About the CDs
Play It Again!
Children’s recordings typically get a lot of play during the
early years of a child’s life. The goal for these recordings was
to make them accessible for both “little ears” and the adults
who play the recordings—parents who get to hear their children’s
favorite CDs over and over again. The wonderful CDs in this
series were developed to bridge the perceptual divide between
baby and parents, and to deliver music that works for listeners
of all ages. It’s music that has received stellar reviews from
parents testing these recordings!
Listening, Singing, and Playing
As the beautiful song by folksinger Pete Seeger reminds us, “To
everything there is a season.” Listening comes before
speaking or singing in the first “season” of your child’s life. You’ll find two kinds of
age-appropriate music in this award-winning series of recordings—the first
peaceful, the other playful. Your child needs to hear both.
Peaceful songs help you foster the close relationships that are
so important for the emotional growth and development of your
child. Playful songs encourage wonderful moments of magic that
include dancing, moving, tickling, laughing, playing
instruments, and singing together. Researchers and educators
know that “play” is not just for fun—it’s vital for the
emotional, creative, intellectual, and physical growth of your
child.
With the award-winning recordings in the series Songs of Peace
and Play, you can introduce beautiful and age-appropriate music
into the first season of your child’s life.
Music That Supports and Enhances Development
Some parents are surprised to find that the American Academy of
Pediatrics does not recommend television viewing by children
under the age of two. While there are many reasons for this
recommendation, one of the most important relates to
all-important neurological development in the first months and
years of life. Simply put--regardless of the program content--
watching television is believed to be too passive for babies and
toddlers during this “critical period” for brain development.

The recommendation of the Academy for all pediatricians and
health care professionals follows: “Discourage television
viewing for children younger than 2 years, and encourage more
interactive activities that will promote proper brain
development, such as talking, playing, singing, and reading
together.”
The award-winning Love Me Playful recording was developed
to support and enhance happy, healthy, and developmentally sound
interactive music-play in the first months and years of life.
The
Love Me Tender recording was developed to support healthy
social-emotional connections and bonding. These CDs feature
“good music” that is good for your child. When you get the “play
it again!” request, you can rest assured that
you are
nurturing your child’s development in many areas.
